Necessary Vitamins in Skin Care Products

Necessary Vitamins in Skin Care Products

Reading the ingredients on skin care products can be quite confusing. The labels use terms such as pentapeptides 3, Rentinyl, Palmitate and Ascorbyl Pamitate and to the average person these terms are bewildering. However, terms such as the ones listed above are clinical names of very common vitamins.

Just as our body needs the necessary nourishment and proper about of vitamins to stay healthy, the same is true with our skin care program. In order to have a healthy complexion our face, neck and cleavage area needs nourishment too.

Vitamin A also known as Retinal Palmitate. A vitamin A derivative which is commonly found in skin care products are retinoid. Products such as Retinol contain Vitamin A, however there is such a small amount of the vitamin A derivative that it may take some time to actually reap the benefits. Vitamins play an important part in our overall health. Vitamin A gives the most benefits to the eyes. If you suffer from blurred vision, dry eyes, or night vision blindness you may have a Vitamin A deficiency. Additionally, Vitamin A is recommended by dermatologists to maintain youthful and smooth skin and also responds well to Acne breakouts. Vitamin A increases blood flow, stimulates the skin and protects against sunburn. Beta carotene is found in dark green leafy vegetables, carrots and apricots, has been found to good for skin, as they convert to Vitamin A.

Vitamin Bs B3 is known as niacin and B5 is known as pantothenic acid. Vitamin B plays in important part in your overall health and in your skin care regimen. BComplex Vitamins support health of the skin and hair. The American Academy of Dermatology cites vitamins B3 and B5 as popular additions to skin products, mostly because they help hold moisture in. In a study funded by Procter and Gamble, B vitamins were shown to be effective exfoliates; that is, they removed dead surface skin cells that clump up and make skin texture appear dull. Another study was done testing B5, B3 and Vitamin E on skin with rosaceous, skin treated with this product experienced a 36% increase in hydration, although its not clear if this improvement was from vitamin E or the B vitamins.

Peel and mash the avocado with a fork. In separate bowl, mix the egg yolk and honey together, then and add to the pulp. Use the mixture immediately, applying to your face, neck and shoulders. Leave for at least 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Finish with a toner and moisturizer. Avocado contains: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1 thiamine Vitamin B2 riboflavin, Niacin, Folate, Pantothenic Acid, and Vitamin B6.

Vitamin C also known as Lascorbic acid and its greatest benefit in skin care is it antioxidants to repair sun damage and defend against free radicals. Additionally, Vitamin C enhances repairing sun damage and enhances the production of collagen.

Vitamin C facial serum recipe:

1/4 teaspoon Vitamin C also known as Lascorbic acid. Do not use vitamin C tablets or calcium Ascorbate.

Dissolve the lascorbic acid in 1 teaspoon of water in small glass sterilized container. Make sure the acid has dissolved before proceeding. Add 1 teaspoon glycerin and mix well. Apply once a day, preferably at night and increase to twice daily if your skin tolerates the serum. Store in dark container and refrigerate. Light will degrade vitamin C, therefore, it is important to watch for yellowing of your serum, this indicates that the vitamin C is oxidized. Once oxidized the vitamin C has lost it usefulness as a facial serum that delivers nutrients to the skin. As it undergoes oxidation the ascorbic acid takes on a yellowish tinge, so it is important to check your creams or serums before you put them on your face, and if there is any yellow discoloration, discard. Vitamin C in skin care offers many benefits such as reducing blotchiness, stimulates collagen, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and also protect against sun damage..

Kingston shows off PC

Kingston shows off PC2

Today Kingston showed off samples of their PC26000 memory, which is the fastest DDR2 memory that we have seen to date. For those that dont know, PC26000 is running at 750MHz DDR2! The modules that we have are 256MB modules and carry the part number KHX6000D2/256. Under closer inspection they were found to be running a 32MB x 8 single sided configuration on a JEDEC reference PCB. As far as latency is concerned, they are rated at CL4 for 44412 timings. Below is the first public image of the Kingston PC26000 memory.

Expect Kingston to officially launch the HyperX PC26000 modules in 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB configurations in the next two weeks. The reason Kingston hasnt launched this product yet is because there is a lack of motherboards that can reach speeds of 750MHz on the memory. As of the writing of this article Kingston has only found one board so far that this memory is able to work on The ASUS P5AD2E Motherboard. Kingston has searched high and low for boards that support PC26000 because they wont release a product for a single motherboard. Imagine the Customer Service phone calls when people buy this on any board other than the ASUS P5AD2E. The ultra hyped ABIT Fatal1ty board does run stable at PC26000, but is right on the threshold of being too close to be called solid. If you want Kingston to launch DDR2 memory at 750MHz CL4 youll have to wait for it to be qualified and it has to pass on more than a single board for Kingston to launch a product.

Legit Reviews has been hitting over 800MHz internally, but it looks like Kingston has got us beat there now, too. Below is a slide from their recent power point presentation that talks about running DDR2 866MHz on the PC26000 memory shown above. With 1.95V they are able to achieve 866MHz speeds with 100% stability and have included a couple benchmarks to show off the memory performance. It looks like Kingston just leapt ahead the competition in terms of raw clock speed. Unfortunately for the consumer the memory industry is ahead of the motherboard guys in terms of technological abilities. We had DDR2 memory months before we got the i915/i925 boards from Intel and ever since then memory has always stayed one step ahead of the chipsets/boards. When it comes to overclocking it becomes obvious that all DDR2 motherboards are not created equal, even if they use the same chipset. As always, Legit Reviews stresses the importance of building a solid platform around your wants and needs. Dont expect to take the cheapest DDR2 motherboards you can find and expect to get PC26000 to work on it just because the memory is rated to run that. Kudos to Kingston for working on PC26000 memory and for letting the enthusiast community know that they are ready for faster memory. Now if we could just get a bunch of motherboards that support PC26000 and beyond!

Covenant could scupper bid to redevelop Leeds site

Covenant could scupper bid to redevelop Leeds site

And a group of local families have pledged to stump up the cost of enforcing the 148yearold restrictive covenant which could run to more than 30,000.

Commercial estate agent and Chapel Allerton shop owner Peter Davies described his discovery as a loaded gun for Morrisons application to build a new store on the vacant site of Allerton House, behind Yorkshire Bank.

A restrictive covenant restricts or prohibits building or certain uses of a piece of land. The document he has uncovered, which dates back to 1865, states that nothing can be built on the site within 60ft of what is now Harrogate Road.

If upheld, the supermarkets plan to build at the front of the site would be thwarted.

Mr Davies, who works at Stoneacre Properties in Leeds, said: Theres a group of people who have got together who would like to enforce this covenant. They feel theres a covenant put on a plot of land for the good of the people of the area therefore noone has the right to change that. Because its a civil matter it means this group of people have got to find the money and they have shown that they can.

Mr Davies said the cost could be in the region of 20,000 to 30,000 upwards.

He said: If someone intends to build a property and knows they are going to be held up or hampered or dragged through the courts for a number of years, they might think twice before proceeding.

Morrisons has submitted two applications to Leeds City Council, one to build at the front of the site, one to build at the rear. Leeds City Council favours proposals to build at the front but most traders and residents would prefer the store at the back, with parking at the front, believing this layout would encourage shoppers to also visit the nearby independent retailers.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said they would look into the claims.

Influenza update

Influenza update

Influenza activity in the northern hemisphere temperate zones remained at interseasonal levels. The United States of America reported 14 cases of human infection with influenza AH3N2v so far this year, since the first case in June.

In most regions of tropical Asia influenza activity decreased, except for Cambodia, India and Viet Nam where there are some signs of increasing influenza A activity. In Central America and the Caribbean regions, influenza activity continued to increase in Costa Rica, El Salvador and Nicaragua, remained high in Cuba, and decreased in the Dominican Republic. In tropical South America, influenza AH1N1pmd09 became the predominant circulating virus in most countries, except in Ecuador where respiratory syncytial virus RSV remained the most commonly detected respiratory virus.

Influenza transmission has peaked in the southern cone of South America and in South Africa in late June. In all of those areas, transmission was primarily associated with influenza AH1N1pdm09. In Australia and New Zealand, numbers of influenza viruses detected and rates of influenzalike illness have been lower than in previous years, but have not yet definitively peaked. Influenza AH3N2 and type B have been much more commonly detected than AH1N1pdm09 in both of those countries.

How to correctly convert filesize in bytes into mega or gigabytes

If you want a reasonable user experience you should seriously consider sticking to the common convention. However, it your program to do with as you please, and if you ready to deal with customer questions regarding what a GiB is, or why your software reports different drive sizes than everything else they see, go for it. Keep in mind that the SI prefixes are great for technical documentation, but not necessarily designed for the end user to understand easily. Adam Davis Oct 21 10 at 14:56

1024 is actually wrong. The International Engineering Community IEC has developed a standard in 2000, which is sadly being ignored by the computer industry. This standard basically says that

The widely used 1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte should instead by called 1024 bytes = 1 Kibibyte KiB, 1024 KiB = 1 Mebibyte MiB, 1024 MiB = 1 Gibibyte GiB and so on.
